GSO obtains a certificate of outstanding organization from the EFQM organization
The GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) has obtained the Certificate of Institutional Excellence (Qualified by EFQM) from the European Organization for Quality Management EFQM, having successfully fulfilled compliance with the standards of the European Institutional Excellence Model, continuing to demonstrate its institutional excellence.
In a statement on this occasion, His Excellency Mr. Saud bin Nasser Al-Khasibi, President of GSO, indicated that “GSO is exerting relentless efforts to achieve its strategic vision 2025 in being the trusted house of expertise for the national standardization bodies in the member states and the first enabler of the Gulf common market, and in this context, GSO is doing its utmost effort to govern its institutional performance, by developing its business system, raising the professional competence of GSO’s employees and adopting digital transformation programs.
He stressed that the continuous development of GSO’s institutional performance aims to enhance the quality of its activities and services with added value that meets the needs and aspirations of the member states, and providing tools and resources that support the unification of standardization activities and follow-up on their implementation and adherence to them in coordination with the national standardization bodies in the member states, thus contributing to the promotion and facilitation of trade exchange, promoting national industries, consumer protection, the environment and public health to support the Gulf common market.
His Excellency President of GSO expressed his thanks to the Institutional Excellence Team and all staff of GSO for the efforts that have been made and are still being made in order to achieve excellence, which culminated in this achievement.
He stressed the importance of completing the journey of excellence and working on improvement projects aimed at raising the level of quality of GSO services and activities, and the maturity of its work and its excellence in various fields, and complete obtaining other international certificates in accordance with the GSO’s strategic plan in the field of quality systems (ISO 9001: 2015), information security (ISO/IEC 27001: 2022), and knowledge management system (ISO 30401: 2018), and other certificates that will support the work of GSO and contribute to achieving institutional excellence as a strategic goal in line with GSO’s plan 2021-2025, with a view to meet the aspirations and directions of member states in the field of enhancing standardization activities and quality infrastructure.
It is worthwhile noting that the Excellence Model of the European Organization for Quality Management is the most widespread in the world and one of the highest recognition certificates in institutional excellence. It evaluates the enablers and results based on 7 main criteria, namely “strategic direction, institutional culture and leadership, stakeholders’ involvement, building sustainable value, leading performance and transformation, Strategic and operational performance, and the impressions of stakeholders.
