GSO Participating in Organizing the Bahrain Halal Expo 2024

GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) is participating in organizing the Bahrain Halal Expo 2024: Bridging the Gap between Halal Industry & Islamic Finance, which will be held under the patronage of His Excellency Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the Bahraini capital, Manama, during 6-7 February 2024, at Crowne Plaza Hotel.

GSO’s participation in organizing Bahrain Halal Expo 2024 comes along with the support of the Ministry of and other partners, including the Islamic Society, Industry and Commerce, the Investment and Technology Promotion Office in the Kingdom of Bahrain, UNIDO, SMIIC, the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), the Bahrain Institute for Banking and Financial Studies (BIBF), and a number of Islamic and international institutions, organizations and bodies specialized in the Halal industry and its services.

GSO participation stems from its pioneering role with its members to develop Gulf standards, including standards for Halal products and services, in accordance with an annual work plan to meet the needs identified by the member states and relevant authorities, through specialists (technical and Sharia specialists) in the Gulf technical committees from all member states according to the targeted sectors.

GSO, through its participation in the Halal Industry and Services Forum, aims at raising awareness of the importance of this sector from an economic perspective and consumer safety, coordinating efforts relating to Halal standards, and striving to build a unified Gulf Halal scheme in coordination with the relevant authorities at the Gulf, Islamic, regional, and international levels.
