GCC Accreditation Centre gets international recognition in Laboratories Accreditation
The GCC Accreditation Center earned international recognition in the field of testing laboratories accreditation during the 22nd meeting of the Asia-Pacific Organisation, which was recently held in Taiwan.
Director General of the GCC Accreditation Centre Nabil A. Molla and the Secretary-General of the Standardisation Authority of the Gulf Cooperation Council for Arab States (GCC) said the centre had signed an agreement of mutual recognition with the Organisation of Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC), which enables it to automatically obtain similar international recognition from the International Organisation for Laboratory Accreditation.
He added that this achievement was an incentive and would support infrastructure of quality standards in the Member States, bringing the accreditation services of all applicants in line with international standards.
He pointed out that the Gulf Accreditation Center would continue to extend efforts to expand the field of international recognition to cover new fields, such as granting certificates of conformity for products, standards and inspections.
