GSO announces its 2025 Training Plan
 

GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) announced its plan of training programs for 2025 in the fields of standards, metrology, conformity, notification, and supporting activities. The plan was announced by the Gulf Standardization Training Center affiliated to GSO.

GSO intends to organize 25 training programs and workshops in the various disciplines of standardization, to be implemented throughout the GCC member states, in accordance with a timetable, and with coordination and cooperation of national standardization bodies.

the plan of training programs for 2025 aims at developing and qualifying the human cadres in the national standardization bodies in member states, other concerned parties, and those interested in the fields of standardization, with a view to fulfil the requirements of professional work and propagating awareness of the importance of standardization.

the list of training programs and courses for 2025 included the Gulf Technical Regulations for Tires and Market Survey Program – (practical), the Gulf Standards Program for Lubricating Oils and their Classifications, a workshop for the limits of pollutants emitted by the internal engines of vehicles, in addition to a program of the electronic systems of GSO (Motabeq platform) and another program for (Mowasif platform).

The plan also comprised training programs on the emergency communication system for vehicles E-Call, qualification of a technical expert in the field of issuing energy efficiency cards, the use of standards for medical devices and supplies to support good regulatory practice, as well as the requirements for notifying conformity assessment bodies in the field of the Gulf technical regulation for Water consumption conservation Products, and measurement of the quality of electrical energy.

The list of training programs also included the Economic Operators Forum 2025 (ECONOMIC OPERAT0RS), the Gulf Standards Camp, general requirements for novel foods, and a workshop on exchanging experiences in the field of technical regulations among member states, in addition to a visit to exchange experiences in the field of standardization among member states: “SASO laboratories”, in addition to a field visit to acquaint with the experience of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

The list of the training programs also included the global index of the quality infrastructure for sustainable development goals QI4SD, the qualification program for a technical auditor to notify conformity assessment bodies (advanced level), and the Gulf standard for governance of organizations GSO ISO 37000:2023. As well as the training of trainers program in standardization activities (TOT), policies for formulation of standards and Gulf guides of technical work, digital transformation of metrology, principles of ports control and market surveillance for industrial products, and finally, the professional program for preparing and drafting legislation and technical regulations, and qualifying auditors of measuring and calibration competencies.
