Objective:

The main objective of this 3-days workshop is enhance Technical Cooperation between GSO and member states and Regional and International standardization organizations and to learn How to benefit from the MoUs which GSO and NSBs have signed with them.

This 3-days workshop will focus on:

· providing the tools and experiences needed for those responsible for international cooperation in GSO and the NSBs members of GSO to activate the MoUs signed with the counter parts around the world.

· encouraging NSBs to participate in the international standardization processes effectively and efficiently.

Who Should attend?

This workshop is designed for specialists in international cooperation departments in GSO and NSBs and for Technical committees’ members.

Topics

This 3-days workshop will cover the following topics:

Part one:

· Strategies for Standardization

· Criteria and Implementation

· Regional and International Participation and National Mirror Committees

· Experts and Participants also will share their experiences and best practices, especially in the development of the national standardization strategy, participation in international Technical committees, establishment and management of the national mirror committees.

Part Two: 25 July 2017

· What is a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)?

· Guidelines and principles for creating and developing an MoU

· How to write an MOU? Recommended template for an MoU formulation

· Aim of the MOU

· Scope/ fields/ Areas of the MOU

· How to Implement the signed MoU? Activation Process /Activation Criteria

· Writing and following up the road Map

· Examples and Case Studies will be presented from experts

Part Three: 26 July 2017

Workshop:

· Participants will be divided into groups.

· Sample/s of MoU GSO has signed with organizations that are represented by their experts in this workshop will be given to each group.

· Each group is required to evaluate the current situation of each MoU and will present how to maximize the benefits of the MoU with the counter parts.

· Group discussion

· Final recommendations will be collected at the end of the workshop.
