Gulf Technical Regulation for Low Voltage Electrical Equipment and Appliances – Technical Requirements and Conformity Assessment Procedures.
Course Introduction
Standardization Organization for the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GSO) issued this Gulf Low-Voltage Technical Regulation (LV TR). In order to achieve integration in the GCC Common Market, and ensure the safety and quality of goods that placed to the member states market.aiming for the safety of citizens and residents which is the ultimate goal represented by protect consumer, environment and public health based on the essential requirements for products namely; safety, health and environment.
GSO seeks, by these efforts, to achieve selling safe products with adequate safety level that do not harm the health of consumers, and maintain a sustainable environment for future generations.
GSO Council approved in its 20th Meeting (Riyadh, 5th November, 2014) this LV TR. It will come into full force from July 2016, whilst it will be for experimental starting from June 2015 so as to give opportunity for all economic operators to arrange their status in line with the LV TR requirements and to enable the Notified Bodies to work on the corresponding conformity assessment procedures.
Course Objective
This interactive training course aims to give a precise interpretation about the LV TR chapters, articles and clauses. Such as the general and technical requirements, determine the economic operator's obligations, explain the conformity presumptions, and then explain conformity assessments requirements i.e. risk analysis and conformity assessment procedures and finally the general, administrative and final provisions. In addition to present the general principles of the gulf conformity mark technical regulation.
