This part of ISO 5247 establishes a vocabulary and system of classification for weaving machines used in the textile industry for the production of woven fabrics by the weaving technique, i.e. by interlacing two (or more) systems of parallel threads, and by machines using hybrid forming methods. NOTE In addition to terms used in English and French, two of the three official ISO languages, this part of ISO 5247 gives the equivalent terms in German; these are published under the responsibility of the member body for Germany (DIN). However, only the terms and definitions given in the official languages can be considered as ISO terms and definitions.
